Empires of the Deep Movie in 2011

Empires of the Deep is an upcoming 3D fantasy adventure movie directed by Michael French. The film is starring Olga Kurylenko, Steve Polites, and Yanfei Shi. It is said to be the biggest US-China co-production in the history with its production budget reaching $100 million and is currently filming in Beijing. Empires of the Deep will be the first movie in a planned movie franchise including comic books, animation and online games: all of which are currently under development. Other derivative products such as gifts and theme parks are also planned. The Empires of the Deep movie should be released sometime in 2010.

"The fantasy adventure, set in ancient Greece, tells about a young man's adventure in the undersea mermaid kingdom in order to save his father, while encountering ferocious sea monsters and gets involved in large-scale battles in the seabed between mermaids, monsters and demons. Kurylenko plays the Queen of the Mermaid Empire and stars opposite lead actor Steve Polites and Chinese actress Yanfei Shi."

The movie Empires of the Deep sounds like a very ambitious project. There isn't much buzz about the movie so far, but it could well become a worldwide blockbuster when it gets released next year.
